A fool is one who goes on trusting against all his experience. You deceive him, and he trusts you; and you deceive him again, and he trusts you. You will say that he is a fool because he does not learn.

But perhaps it is not quite so foolish. Even if you are cheated and deceived and robbed, if that happens and still you remain with the potential to be trusting, it shows that your core cannot be robbed by external experiences.  Your beliefs, your mind, your attitude, that is something that no-one can change. It’s only in your power. And each time you are tested, and still you go on trusting, it makes you stronger, not more foolish.
