cool ideas for non-alcoholic cocktails

  • “Virgin
    Mary” for preventing or fighting off a cold: It is a Bloody Mary made without vodka.
    The drink is known commonly in England and Australia as a Bloody Shame or Holy Mary!
    It is essentially tomato juice (lycopene is a good antioxidant), with the extra spices usually in a Bloody Mary. Contains chilli (expectorant),
    horseradish (expectorant), lemon (vit C and helps liver)

1. Fill a glass with ice.
2. Add:

* 1 tsp Horseradish (expectorant)
* (3 dashes Tabasco sauce) or, better would be fresh or dried chilli (expectorant)
* (3 dashes of Worcestershire Sauce optional)
* Dash of lime/ lemon juice (vit C)
* 3 dashes of celery salt or better would be to make do with a celery garnish.
* 3 dashes of pepper
* 1 oz clam juice (optional)

3. Fill with tomato juice. (contains lycopene, a good antioxidant)
4. Pour from one glass to another until mixed.
5. Garnish with lemon juice and/or lime (vit C), celery and/or cucumber and/or cocktail shrimp.

  • "Blaster Bates" is a type of non-alcoholic fruit drink, believed to be first founded in Cheshire and named after local personality Blaster Bates. The ingredients are simply mixed in a blender

 Contains:
* 4 oz. Orange Juice (home-squeezed preferably)
* 2 oz. Milk (or better might be a milk alternative like rice milk, soy milk, oat milk)
* 1 Banana
* 1/4 cup Blueberries
* 1/4 cup Raspberries

  • Morir Soñando, literally "Die dreaming" is a popular beverage of the Dominican Republic, usually made of orange juice, milk, cane sugar, and chopped ice. Sometimes vanilla extract is also added, or evaporated milk is used instead of regular milk.

Contains:
* 2 cups of milk (or better is a milk alternative eg rice, soy, oat milk)
* Juice from 2 large oranges (or can be substituted for lemons or limes)
* Sweetener as needed, in the form of apple puree, Agave syrup, and/ or xylitol (take care with xylitol – laxative effects in some people! I recommend to put about 1tsp in a glass)
* Plenty of crushed ice
It should be tangy but slightly sweet, like tart-sweet lemonade.

  • Virgin piña colada or piñita colada (it literally means "strained pineapple" in Spanish: piña, pineapple + colada, strained))

* 3cl (one part) coconut cream or rice milk
* 9cl (3 parts) pineapple juice (or blended pineapple chunks)
* crushed ice
Garnish with pineapple slice and maraschino cherry

  • Safe Sex on the Beach – cranberry juice, grapefruit juice, and peach nectar.
