Joke in the Forest

"If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" is a well-known philosophical riddle.

Nice quote.  On a sidenote the answer to "If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?" is quite blatantly yes.  To prove this all a person needs to do is leave a camcorder/voice recording equipment near where a tree is going to fall and leave.  😉  I like trying to find a rationale answer to something that is open to interpretation!

I never did quite understand why that riddle was such a riddle… I mean it does seem pretty blatant that a tree still makes a sound falling even if there’s no-one around to hear it. Are we that egocentric a species that we think that everything revolves around our presence in order for something to occur? Yep – your camcorder/ voice recording idea would definitely do the trick in proving the point 🙂
